Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park Offers Lift-Accessed Cross Country Mountain Biking
The Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park at Crested Butte Mountain Resort features 30 miles of singletrack that is accessible right off of the Red Lady Express Lift. While lift-accessed mountain biking is not unique to the Evolution Bike Park, the variety of trails – from machine-built flow trails designed for beginners to incredibly steep and intimidating rock gardens – is truly a testament to the quality of riding that has made Crested Butte a world-class destination for mountain bikers.
In addition to the hand-numbing, rock smashing downhill trails such as Psycho Rocks and Captain Jack, the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park boasts a unique offering of lift-access cross country riding that connects the bike park and surrounding backcountry trails into one massive network.
The next time you are looking to ride some of the classic Crested Butte singletrack, try accessing it via the bike park’s Red Lady Express Lift. Here’s how:
- Purchase an Adventure Ticket from the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park and hop on the Red Lady Express Lift straight from the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area.
- Check out the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park map and point your tires towards either the Happy Hour or Lower Meander trails.
- From either of these trails, you have direct access to the Upper Loop or Snodgrass trailhead, which will weave you into the 750-mile network of singletrack throughout the entire Gunnison and Crested Butte Valley!
For a truly unique experience, grab a mid-ride snack from the on-mountain Umbrella Bar located off of the Painter Boy trail. This may be your final opportunity to fuel up before heading out onto some backcountry singletrack.
