Mavic Haute Route Rockies
Carving through the heartland of American cycling, the Mavic Haute Route Rockies 2017 will feature an unforgettable combination of jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking climbs from Boulder to Colorado Springs with seven timed, ranked and fully-supported stages. The event offers committed amateur riders the opportunity to compete with a professional level of off-the-bike support unprecedented in US amateur cycling.
The event kicks off on June 24, 2017 from Boulder, Colorado and finishes on June 30 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Among the classic ascents are Independence Pass, Kebler Pass and Berthoud Pass, all of which are above 3,000 meters.
"As you reach the town of Crested Butte, don’t make the mistake of thinking you’re done. Once you ride through the town you are still about 2 miles (3.2km) from the finish at Mount Crested Butte Ski Resort, which is also about 500 feet (150m) higher in elevation. The final mile is where the climb to the finish really stings. This may not look like a summit finish, but it absolutely feels like one."
