Triple Peaks, LLC to Sell Okemo Mountain, Mount Sunapee and Crested Butte Mountain Resort to Vail Resorts


LUDLOW, VT – JUNE 4, 2018 – Triple Peaks, LLC, owned by Tim and Diane Mueller, and their children Ethan and Erica Mueller, announced today they have entered into a purchase agreement with Vail Resorts, Inc. Triple Peaks, LLC is the parent company for Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vt., Mount Sunapee in Newbury, N.H. and Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Mt. Crested Butte, Colo.

The sale includes the three ski resort operations, as well as Okemo Valley Golf Club in Ludlow, Vt. and Tater Hill Golf Club in Windham, Vt. As part of the transaction, Vail Resorts will also own the leasehold assets presently owned by Och-Ziff Real Estate.

CBMR Honors Veterans with Discounted Rates


MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – May 31, 2018 – In support of the United States Armed Forces, Crested Butte Mountain Resort welcomes all men and women who are serving and have served to visit Crested Butte during Military Appreciation Month from Aug. 6 through Sept. 9, 2018.

“Building off of our most successful winter Military Month this season, we are excited to invite members of the military to experience the beauty and adventure of summer in Crested Butte this August,” said CBMR Senior Marketing Manager, Erica Rasmussen.  

This is the third consecutive year CBMR will offer the popular event during both the winter and summer season. During Military Month, active, disabled and retired military and their dependents will receive significantly discounted lodging rates and Adventure Park tickets.

Local’s Pick: Summer Unplugged

New this summer, Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s popular winter concert series, CB Unplugged, is expanding into the late summer and fall. The free CB Unplugged Concert Series is a small venue, après experience that brings in nationally touring acts to perform in an intimate setting. Previous talents who graced the stage this past winter season include Chali 2na, Todd Sheaffer and Tony Furtado. Proposed Summer Unplugged concert dates are Sept. 1 and Oct. 6, 2018.

CBMR’s Spring Concert Adds Concerts and New Venues


MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – March 8 – Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s (CBMR) annual spring concert, SkiTown Breakdown, is being revitalized this season. Traditionally a free outdoor concert at the base of CBMR during mid-March, SkiTown Breakdown is now moving to Closing Weekend with multiple venues and performances happening all over the mountain.

Spread over the Saturday and Sunday of Closing Weekend, April 7 and 8, SkiTown Breakdown returns as a celebration of the winter season.

Expert skiing and riding now open with access via the High Lift


MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – February 22 – The moment many Crested Butte locals and guests have been waiting for occurred on Wednesday, February 21, when Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) opened the first extreme terrain of the winter season. Expert skiers and riders accessed the steep terrain of Teocalli Bowl, Headwall, Big Chute and Paradise Cliffs, all via the High Lift.

CBMR is renowned for the 542 acres of inbounds Extreme Limits Terrain that provide expert skiers and riders with some of the best runs in the country.

“The Crested Butte Ski Patrol is psyched to be able to open up some of the extreme terrain that Crested Butte is renowned for,” exclaims CBMR Director of Ski Patrol, Bill Dowell. “With the excitement of this opening, we cannot stress enough the importance of being reasonably cautious and aware of the conditions.”
