SANTA DELIVERS A DEEP BLANKET OF SNOW TO CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN RESORT

Over 9’’of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours.

 

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – Dec. 25 – Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) has received over 9 inches of snow in the last 24 hours. Winter provided a powdery present just in time for the holidays, and guests and local residents are ecstatic with the snow from mother nature and the stoke levels are high in the lift line. Hopefully, the weather pattern will continue in our favor and the remainder of the 2017-18 Winter Season will be filled with lots of snow, events and memories to last a lifetime! The fresh snow is blanketing 43 open trails accessed by 11 open lifts. In addition to the natural snowfall, the snowmaking crews continue to be hard at work.

Military Appreciation Month during January in Crested Butte

Thanking all the men and women who serve

 

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – Dec. 7 – For the third consecutive year, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) and the Crested Butte community are hosting Military Appreciation Month from January 2 through February 8, 2018. This is Crested Butte’s way to thank all the service men and women in the United States Military with lodging and ski discounts for all active military, retired military, their legal dependents and Department of Defense employees. In addition, the resort has partnered with the Adaptive Sports Center’s Operation Rise and Conquer program, as well as the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce.

CBMR is proud to offer rooms at the Grand Lodge starting at $119 per night, along with $42 lift tickets. In addition, $2 of each lift ticket sold will be donated to the Operation Rise and Conquer program. Plus, along with the Adaptive Sports partnership, there will be $35 lessons for skiing or snowboarding.

Be a Part of Santa Ski History

Help Set a World Record at Crested Butte’s Annual Santa Ski and Crawl, Slated for Dec. 9

 

MOUNT CRESTED BUTTE, Colorado — Help set the World Record for the most skiing Santas at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) on Dec. 9, 2017. It doesn’t matter if you ski, snowboard or snowblade, all Santas are welcome at the 5th annual Crested Butte Santa Ski.

This year, event organizers hope to break the event’s previously set World Record (in 2015) for the most number of skiers in full Santa costumes — 827 skiing Santas! The best way to kick off the holiday season is with some turns at Crested Butte Mountain Resort and a classic Crested Butte costume party. 

This iconic event also features a Santa Pub Crawl option in town and discounted lift tickets for Santas— just $25 — for skiers and riders decked out in a full Santa suit, valid that day only. Snowmaking Kicks Off in True Crested Butte Spirit

Dust Off the Cobwebs and Crank Up the Snow Guns

 

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – Oct. 31 – Preparations for the 2017-18 Winter Season have begun at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Wintry temperatures and natural snowfall have set the tone for the resort’s Snowmaking Team to embark on another snowmaking season in anticipation of the lifts spinning. Crested Butte Mountain Resort begins making snow this evening, Halloween night.

In true Crested Butte fashion, more than 20 costume-clad locals came out to celebrate Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s start to snowmaking.

“Snowmaking begins tonight, weather permitting. We’ve got our crew on standby ready to go.” says Tucker Roberts, Snowmaking Manager at CBMR. “We look forward to start covering the mountain with great snowmaking in preparation for the start of ski season.”

Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s Donation Day to benefit the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation

Start of a new tradition

 

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – Nov. 14 – Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is excited to partner with the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation (CBSF) for the second annual Donation Day prior to the ski resort’s official opening. On November 22, 2017, the resort will be collecting a $15 donation for a lift ticket, valid for that Wednesday only. 100% of the proceeds from this Donation Day will go to the CBSF and help fund their mission of “supporting the youth in the Gunnison Valley in their pursuits of sportsmanship, passion, and discipline through snow sport experiences. The resort’s official opening day for the winter season is Thursday, November 23, 2017.

Last season’s inaugural Donation Day generated over $11,000 in donations for the local organization. Overall, CBSF awarded 52 need- or merit-based scholarships in 2016-17, which was significantly up from 32 during the 2015-16 season.
